PSRM Roll Out at Wire Division Plants (Process Safety Risk Management)
Date: 28th July 2009 |
Venue: Tarapur
The "Safety Excellence Journey" for Wire Division was rolled out three years ago with the direction and assistance from Tata Steel - Jamshedpur along with DuPont Safety Resources. Through this process, various tools and techniques have been internalized focusing mainly on behavioral aspects of safety.
As a proactive measure to strengthen the processes and equipment safety aspects, a new initiative known as "Process Safety Risk Management (PSRM)" was rolled out at the Tarapur Wire Division Plants and CRC (West) Plant on 28th July, 2009.
On this occasion Mr. O.B. Krishna (Chief-Safety & Ergonomics) released a plaque of PSRM and addressed the officers about the importance of PSRM and urged for taking up projects and ensuring implementation of these safety practices and procedures. He mentioned that safety was fundamentally about discerning observation of the physical phenomena and effective application of engineering knowledge.
Mr. Sunil Bhaskaran (EIC-Global Wires) along with Mr. Rajiv Mangal (Chief-Wire Division), Mr. S.P. Gupte (Chief-CRC West), Mr. Manoranjan Prasad (Head-Work Place Safety) and Mr. Shyam Sunder (Chief-Operation) emphasized on the importance of following safe working practices - not only in the plant, but even outside. The PSRM Roll Out is one such measure in the Wire Division's Safety Excellence Journey.
