» VISIT OF MANAGING DIRECTOR TO GLOBAL WIRES, INDIA & CRC-WEST

On 6th March 2011, Managing Director Mr. H. M. Nerurkar and Mrs. Nerurkar, visited the Tarapur Wire Plants, Wire Rod Mill – West and CRC-West complex of Flat products Division. Mr. Sunil Bhaskaran (EIC - Global Wires) received them along with Mr. Rajiv Kumar (Chief Global Wires India), Mr. S P Gupte (Chief CRC West), Mr. Tay Tuang Heong (GM WJMP China), Mr. Yeoh Choon Kwee (MD SIW Thailand) and Mr. Krishnendu Sanyal (CEO LSSL Sri Lanka) as well as other Senior Leadership Team members of Global Wires & CRC- West. MD was accompanied by Mr. T V Narendran (VP Safety & Flat Products) and Mr. Sudanshu Pathak (Chief Manufacturing – Flat Products).

It was a historic mile stone for Global Wires with the first ever visit of an MD of Tata Steel to Tarapur. MD was given a traditional Maharashtrian welcome on his arrival.  He interacted with all the sports achievers of Global Wires, India and appreciated their achievements and rewarded various sportsmen in their respective sports category. He also released a compendium of poems on Tata Steel, Safety, TQM, Ethics, etc. titled “Kavyanjali” written by one of Global Wires employees Mr. Basant Chauhan.

During the visit, the senior management team of Global Wires presented shining cases of work done in their respective areas to MD.  He appreciated the efforts and encouraged them to keep up the good work.

MD also visited Tarapur Wire Plants I & II, Spring Steel Wire Plant, Wire Rod Mill – West & CRC – West and interacted with the employees when they presented various improvements done through SGAs & Daily Management.  He also addressed the workers of each plant and encouraged them to continue to keep up their good work. Everyone was overwhelmed by his enthusiastic approach and energy.

MD inaugurated the new Galvanizing and new PC Strand line in TWP II, Notch Milling machine in WRM-W and 4Hi Mill in CRC-West. The workers in all the plants were excited to speak to the MD and display the state of the art production facilities at the wire plants.

Mrs. Nerurkar was invited as Chief Guest at Tarapur Vidya Mandir School on 6th March ’11. She planted trees in the school premises and also addressed the children. She also visited some of the CSR sites and interacted with TISWISH members (societal organization run by spouses of the officers of Global Wires, India and CRC-W)

In the evening, a function was organized at the Kurgaon Colony Club where the officers presented an exciting skit by Global Wires, India and CRC- W officers and a song performance by the senior management team of Global Wires.

MD’s visit to Tarapur has boosted excitement and enthusiasm level across the team and his words of encouragement act as a source of inspiration for scaling future heights!
