» Ethics Month Celebrations in Global Wires Group

July 09 was celebrated as Ethics Month with enthusiasm in Global Wires.

The celebrations were kicked off on 2nd July 09 at the Tarapur Works. All Global Wires Units across India (Borivli, Bangalore, Indore) and in China were connected by Video Conference. The kick-off meeting was web telecast “live” to all Wire Division employees at Borivli and Tarapur and to employees at CRC West.  Prashant Ursekar Locational Ethics Counselor (Global Wires) presented the activities undertaken by his group in the last 6 months and plans for the year. Sunil Bhaskaran EIC Global Wires, Rajiv Mangal Chief Wire Division and S Gupte Chief CRC West spoke on this occasion. Mr Harish Ahuja TQMS gave the key note address, explaining the passion and tribulations that the Group had to face in following the “Ethical Path”. He also gave suggestions that the Global Wires could adopt to create an environment encouraging employees raising concerns more freely.

Refresher training programs on the Tata Code of Conduct and the changes of 2008 were conducted across Global Wires; By Nikorn Ong-On at SIW Thailand,

Suresh Mahajan at Tarapur, Sanjeev Singh at Borivli, Shirish Bidikar at Doddabalapur.

We also had Mr Allan Burby from TQMS present to all workmen and officers the Tata Code of Conduct and discuss ethical dillemmas  in corporate life using clips from the hindi film “Corporate”.

Additionally quiz competition on the Tata Code of Conduct 2008 were held at the Indore, Doddaballapur and Borivli plant. A painting competition for children of Tata employees on the theme of “Respect for Individual” was held at the Kurgaon Club House at Tarapur. Mr Ritam Bannerjee (ace photographer) was the judge on this occasion.
