The National Safety Council, Maharashtra and National Safety Council, India has recognized Global Wires, India’s “Safety Excellence Journey”. The following awards were conferred on Global Wires, India:

  1. National Safety Council –Maharashtra Chapter : Safety Award -2010.
    • For achieving Lowest Accident Frequency Rate  in Heavy Engineering Industry group.
  2. National Safety Council –India : Safety Award -2010
    • Letter of Appreciation for scoring above 75% marks in overall safety management systems and the “Zero LTIF” results.

 

Global Wires, India began its “Safety Excellence Journey “ from the year 2005-06 with the support and guidance from  Mr. O B Krishna Corporate Safety –Jamshedpur and M/s. DuPont experts.

 

In the words of Mr. Sunil Bhaskaran, EIC Global Wires , the biggest challenge to safety is to create a culture of safety amongst the employees.

 

The Safety Management journey was a long and arduous one but the employees  with the push and support from senior leadership led by Mr.Sunil Bhaskaran-EIC and Mr.Rajeev Kumar- CWD was internalized and implemented across all units.

 

The Union leaders too have played a major role in implementing the safety systems.

 

With such focused safety initiative Global Wires, India ahs achieved “Zero LTIF” results for the last two years FY09 and FY10.
