In consonance with our CSR Policy, to strive to improve the quality of life of the local communities and with our drive to be a global benchmark for Corporate Citizenship, Tata Steel Wire Division is rapidly progressing in the direction of employee engagement, environment conservation and social sustainability. This year as well, a lot of developmental activities were carried out in the villages around Tarapur, focussing on education health, livelihood and infrastructure improvement in these rural areas. Enlisted are some of the initiatives undertaken recently.


  • Distributed Notebooks to underprivileged students at ZP Schools
  • Provided Fundamental computer training to underprivileged adivasi girls and at ZP Schools
  • Donated basic spare parts and conducted mechanical & electrical training for ITI students

  • Conducted acupressure camp, diabetes camp and blood donation camp in Tarapur plants

  • Organized Talent Hunt Programs at ZP schools as a platform to nurture their skills
  • Provided ‘Learn and Earn’ system to underprivileged students for the art of Warli Painting

  • Collected old clothes from employees of TATA STEEL and distributed them to underprivileged aadiwasi children around 90 boys and 75 girls
  • Surveyed and understood the present scenario of villages in various dimensions of life
  • Provided 18 safety awareness boards to various locations like main areas, turning point and maximum foot fall centres in Tarapur-Boisar premises
